What is the exhaust actually for?

The exhaust is one of the most popular parts of the scooter. It's not just about looks; it serves an important function! The exhaust helps dampen the sound and expels gases. It's also partly responsible for the performance of your scooter due to the backpressure, but we'll explain more about that below.

How does an exhaust work?

Your scooter runs on fuel and oxygen. Through the combustion of these, energy is created, leading to high pressure in the cylinder. This pressure is necessary to push the piston down. The piston moves down until it reaches the exhaust port, allowing the gas to escape. Then, the transfer ports open and a new mixture of fuel and oxygen enters the cylinder.

Do I need to consider anything else?

Yes! Not every exhaust fits every scooter, and what’s also important is the type of cylinder and cylinder capacity. Is the cylinder standard or horizontal? How many CC is the cylinder? We keep all of these in mind as much as possible.
